I know that Packer management and Favre haven't been getting along since Favre announced that he had been basically coerced into retirement and that he really wasn't ready to retire and wanted to return, but the Packers didn't want him back. They wanted some newbie Aaron Rodgers as quarterback because Ted Thompson wants to be the one to find the next Packer quarterback. There had been constant coverage of it in Wisconsin as it unfolded. Last I had heard they were willing to pay him not to play, but I guess he didn't take the bribe since he's now been traded.

I think it's just all completely ridiculous, on both parts. Ted Thompson should have just sucked it up and let Favre back on, no matter how much he doesn't like him, and Favre should have been happy with a second string quarterback position if he really wanted to come back that badly. Everyone is being so stubborn and now because of that, we all have to suffer by seeing him on another team.

This is truly a sad, sad day for Packer and Favre fans alike. Football season is going to be so rough now watching the Packers play without good old number four on the field and even rougher seeing it in some other color...
